Walking is something we take for granted, but it is an incredibly complicated and advanced way of moving involving all four limbs and superb balance. Unfortunately modern lifestyles have meant that the amount and quality of walking we do has declined significantly.
Our body has evolved to walk and the whole musculoskeletal and neurlogogical system develops and is maintained by good walking patterns. Sedentary lifestyles, injury, surgery and bad habits change the way we walk and can encourage injury or consolidate bad posture. Walking properly is the key to counteracting our sitting lifestyle and maintaining good posture.
We use walking re-education to aid in almost every rehabilitation case from surgery, illness or injury as well as using it for seniors looking to get more mobile and fitter again. How we walk is as vital as how much we walk.
